Hat: South Africa still faces a new injury before facing Australia. Tony de Zorzi is a package for the first test after an injury to the ischio-legs.

The 29-year-old drummer injured himself on Wednesday in the last game of the ODI series against Australia in Potchefstroom. The tests conducted on Friday confirmed the extent of his injury, according to Cricket South Africa.

De Zorzi has 17 test selections with the Proteas. No replacement has yet been designated for the first appointment of the series, scheduled for Friday in Durban.

The ischio-legs worry the Proteas

The package of Tony de Zorzi comes in a particularly complicated context for South Africa. Three other players, Ottneil Baartman, Kwena Maphaka and Lungi Ngidi, are already in the pack due to ischio-leg injuries.

Kagiso Rabada is also included in the preliminary group, but his presence in the first Test remains uncertain. The Proteas captain still has to be evaluated after an internal training match scheduled for Monday and Tuesday.

This accumulation of injuries directly affects South African preparation before a series of three tests against Australia. Rabada had already been removed from the recent ODI series due to an injury to the ischio-legs.
